Our Devices

How do I know your phones actually work?

All of our phones have been fully tested to make sure that all of the features will work.

Each phone that is received goes through a testing process that checks all of the features that you would probably use on your device - phone calls, cameras, sensors, you name it! We do this to make sure you're getting exactly what you expect.

Our 30-day free returns policy means that if there are any issues, you're covered. Send a return back at no cost to you.

Will your phones work with my current SIM card?

If you choose to purchase a device that's locked (for example, you've chosen a Telus iPhone), that device will only work with that carrier's SIM card (so that iPhone will only work with Telus SIM cards).

If you choose an unlocked device, you'll be able to use it with most SIM cards - we say most, since Freedom Mobile in Canada has specific requirements for their devices.

What does mint condition, good condition and fair condition mean?

Mint condition - there will be almost no signs of use on the phone. This is the closest you'll get to a brand new phone!

Good condition - shows some signs of use on the screen and body. This means you can expect to see some light scratches on the screen and body, along with wear on the body as well.

Fair condition - the phone will have noticeable signs of use. Expect to see larger and a higher number of scratches, along with more wear on the body. You get the most bang for your buck with these devices!

 

NOTE: no matter which condition you choose, your phone is guaranteed to be fully functional.

What does it mean if a phone is unlocked?

An unlocked phone will be able to accept any SIM card. If you plan on switching carriers soon, or if you'll be travelling and want to take your device with you, an unlocked phone is what you'll need.

 I am in the middle of my contract. Can I still get a phone from here?

Yes! The process of switching phones is really simple - all you have to do is put your old SIM card into your next phone from us, and you're ready to go.

My contract just ended. Shouldn't I just sign another contract to get a new phone?

Don't do it! It may seem tempting to do so, but there are a long number of reasons you may want to reconsider:

1. The best phones are only discounted if you sign up for a more expensive plan (usually over $80 a month!)

2. You lose all flexibility if you find a deal with another carrier in a few months - you're stuck with what you have

3. That phone on a contract may not be the deal you think - you're basically paying for what could be an $800 phone over 24 months through higher plan prices

4. A used phone from The Mobile Base will have the exact same functionality as a new one of the same model, but without getting stuck in a contract

 

We could keep on going, but it's pretty clear that contracts are not the way to go.

Shipping

When will I receive my order?

Once we receive payment for your order, we'll begin our processing. Most orders are shipped out within 24 hours of receiving payment.

We ship most of our orders from our place in Vancouver through Canada Post's Expedited Parcel service. Most orders are delivered within 2-6 business days, depending on how far you are from Vancouver.

Where is my order?

If you'd like to track where your package is, you can go into your order status page, where you'll find a tracking number for your order.

Didn't get a tracking number for your order? Send us a message at admin@themobilebase.ca and we'll look into your order and get you a tracking number.

Do you offer an express shipping service?

FedEx Express shipment is available if you need your device sooner, which should get your order to you within 1-3 business days.
